“La muerte de Michael Jackson“, conmocionó a todo el planeta y cada uno de sus detalles fue seguido por cientos de millones de personas y retransmitido para todo el mundo.

“This Is It” es la película, y pretende convertirse en un evento global lanzándose en los cines de más de 15 ciudades de todo el mundo de forma simultánea.

Nueva York, Río de Janeiro, Londres, Berlín o Seúl serán algunas de las capitales en las que la película que recoge los últimos ensayos del Rey del Pop pocos días antes de su muerte se estrene al unísono. Así lo informó Sony Pictures, la productora que está detrás de esta cinta que se estrenará al público el 28 de octubre y que solo estará en cartelera durante dos semanas.

Además del estreno simultáneo, This Is It contará con una gala de estreno el 27 de octubre Los Angeles y todos los eventos del estreno que se celebren en las distintas ciudades que acogan al ‘premiere’ simultánea incluirá conexiones vía satélite para captar la llegada de las estrellas de Hollywood a la presentación de Los Angeles. Todo un alarde de glamour que tendrá muy distintas horas ya que, por ejemplo, el estreno en Londre será pasada la medianoche del 28 de octubre, mientras que el evento en Seúl está programado para la mañana de ese mismo.

La mayor parte del metraje de This is it fue rodado en junio de 2009 en el STAPLES Center de Los Ángeles y The Forum en Inglewood, en California, cuando Jackson preparaba la serie de 50 conciertos que el artista pensaba ofrecer en el O2 Arena de Londres. Un material muy valioso por el que Sony pagó 60 millones de dólares y con el que espera recaudar un botín superior a los 200 millones antes de que acabe el año.

Además de las cientos de horas de ensayos y escenas entre bastidores (filmadas en alta definición y con el sonido digital) mientras Jackson preparaba sus actuaciones de Londres. La película, que también contará con una selección de secuencias en 3D, también mostrará entrevistas con algunos de los amigos íntimos y colaboradores más cercanos de Jackson.
