Lady Gaga pone a sus pies a Yuotube con Alejandro

La cantante Lady Gaga sigue consolidándose como la estrella de pop más importante de la era multimedia con el “videoclip de Alejandro“, en el que, por su cóctel de religión, sexo y sofisticación estética bajo la dirección de Steven Klein, se posiciona como heredera natural de Madonna.

Lady Gaga se ha convertido en una especialista en batir récords del mundo digital: el vídeo más visto de YouTube es el de su canción “Bad Romance” -223 millones de visitas-, es la artista con más números uno en iTunes y, además, “alimenta” opíparamente a sus fans a través del Twitter.

Ahora, a un día escaso de su estreno, su nuevo videoclip vuelve a poner los pelos de punta a la comunidad virtual, con ocho minutos de metraje sin desperdicio que ya han tenido más de cuatro millones de visionados on line.

En el vídeo, Lady Gaga sigue explotando las posibilidades de un físico poco ortodoxo pero sumamente camaleónico, de una música disco efectiva y pegadiza y de un género visual al que hace coquetear con el cortometraje como ya hiciera Michael Jackson con “Thriller”.

Monja con vinilo rojo que degluta un rosario, “dominatrix” con maquillaje mortecino, en ambiente de campo de concentración, o bailarina con sujetador al estilo Jean Paul Gaultier culminado con metralletas son algunos de los “gaguismos” del vídeo, donde se ve también a la artista con un corazón helado entre las manos o un tocado fúnebre rococó con monóculos incorporados.

Sin embargo, y sin dejar de levantar polvareda, frente a la rabiosa originalidad de “Telephone“, el vídeo que le emparejó de manera tan brillante como demencial a Beyoncé, los fans han encontrado más referencias que ideas nuevas en “Alejandro”.

Son más que evidentes los guiños a “Express Yourself” y “Vogue”, de Madonna y la realización bebe, entre otras, de la estética operística del cineasta italiano Luchino Visconti.

Eso sí, sin salirse del concepto excesivo y cinematográfico que, a través de lo que ella misma ha decidido llamar “Haus of Gaga”, ha marcado cada uno de sus lanzamientos en vídeo desde que Lady Gaga comenzó a brillar con su heterodoxo halo de estrella.

“Alejandro” rompe puntualmente su fructífera colaboración con el sueco Jonas Akerlund -tras “Paparazzi” y “Telephone”- para recurrir a otro notable colaborador de Madonna: el fotógrafo Steven Klein, experto en actualizar la estética barroca que tan bien ha utilizado Lady Gaga gracias, en parte, a los diseños del fallecido Alexander McQueen.

Y así, la presencia mediática de Lady Gaga, la mujer de la que se ha dicho hasta que tenía genitales masculinos, sigue aumentando.

“The Fame”, y su reedición “The Fame Monster“, han vendido, gracias a canciones como “Let”s Dance” o “Poker Face”, más de 10 millones de copias y, 74 semanas después de su edición, sigue en el tercer puesto de los discos más de ventas mundiales.

“Alejandro” fue lanzada como el tercer sencillo internacional del álbum. Los críticos señalaron que la canción hace homenaje evidente a ABBA y Ace of Base, y en general la valoraron positivamente.

Según Lady Gaga su inspiración al escribir “Alejandro” fue su miedo al “monstruo del sexo”, y el sentido básico detrás de la canción es acerca de “enamorarse de tu mejor amigo”

“El videoclip trata sobre la pureza de mi amistad con mis amigos y de cómo he sido incapaz de encontrar un hombre serio en mi vida” declaró Lady Gaga para The Times. Durante el primer día de Junio, en LadyGagaVEVO fue subido un adelanto del vídeo de “Alejandro“; el vídeo es en blanco y negro, y muestra a Gaga cantando y bailando.
